The Cloth Hall is, alongside Wawel Castle and St. Mary's Basilica, one of Cracow's landmarks and a must-see in the Old Town. The name of this building, located in the middle of the Main Square, comes from cloth - the main commodity traded here years ago.
The building we can admire today dates back to the Renaissance period. Its distinctive element is the attic decorated with mascarons. Another characteristic feature of the building is the arcades from the late 19th century. Today, the first floor of the Cloth Hall houses souvenir stalls, while the first floor houses a gallery of 19th century Polish painting and sculpture. The underground leads to the multimedia exhibition called The Underground Market.
